Chelsie + Kevin

I can’t believe summer has come and gone! One of my favourite shoot’s this summer was in Ottawa in the sunflower field with these two!

Chelsie and I go way back to College days where we both studied in Photography at Algonquin College. She reached out after getting engaged to photograph their wedding. It’s such an awesome feeling when another photographer wants you to shoot their wedding!

I was super pumped driving up to their engagement shoot because the sky had these beautiful thick clouds, perfect shooting weather. ( If your a photographer you will understand) However once I got there the clouds disappeared and we were in a field with direct sunlight which is no bueno! Very tricky lighting to shoot in!

Chelsie and Kevin had such a relaxed vibe that they patiently waited with me for some thick clouds to roll back in! Thankfully those beautiful clouds came back. After patiently waiting when these two got in front of the camera their love just shined! They were so adorable and a ton of fun! It was so fun to reconnect with Chelsie and capture these special memories for them and I can’t wait to be apart of their big day next year!

Summer love K+A

When Kayla & Andrew asked me if I would adventure up to her cottage for their engagement session, I was all in! I love adventures and shooting in new locations! ( and honestly up north steals my heart!) K + A told me they love spending time up at the cottage, it’s their happy place! We ventured to a waterfall nearby and then wrapped up our session with beers at their cottage! Kayla and Andrew’s energy was so contagious, they had me laughing the whole time! When I say ” I connect with the most amazing people” I really mean it! I can’t wait to be apart of their big day!

Intimate Countryside Wedding At Au Vieux Moulin

I’ve photographed many rainy weddings. Nothing makes me more happy when the couple fully embraces the weather. Sophia and Mark were so laid back and full of love. Nothing seemed to phase them, even when their ceremony space had been moved from outside to the veranda or when Sophia had to find a curly iron before the ceremony to touch up her hair (because of the rain) … I swear these two were so relaxed!

Magically as these two said I do, they were greeted by the sun! I was so excited for them, we even had the chance to walk around the beautiful grounds and get some dreamy golden hour shots!

I have so much love for this couple and had such an amazing time photographing these two.

Robyn and Sean’s backyard wedding at family cottage in Ile-Cadieux

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve blogged! However, I’ve made it a goal to publish at least of 10 blogs this year on my website. I’m a little shy to say that I’ve been photographing weddings for years and can count on my fingers the amount of blogs I have posted since I’ve started… whoops. I guess I was just too busy focusing on perfecting my skills and learning how to run a business. Now with the pandemic apocalypse going on, I have a little bit more free time on my hands to spare… so here I am, writing my first blog post of 2020!

I wanted to share this romantic, relaxed, backyard wedding that was hosted in Ile-Cadieux, this past summer at my client’s family cottage. Robyn and Sean had such a fun, chill energy about them which in turn made me super stoked to photograph their special day!

This easy going couple did everything in the comfort of their backyard which really added that personal touch! (Fun fact: Robyn’s parents actually got married on the very same property! Which I find extra special!).Their day was simply beautiful, laid back and full of fun! Special thanks to the lovely Michelle from Le Wedding Mill for planning and designing this beautiful day! I’m so glad I got to meet these two, they recently opened an awesome gym called Uniti fitness and they have been kicking my butt! It’s so great when I get to connect with my clients after their weddings because I don’t just consider them clients but friends.I want to keep these blog posts short and sweet and let the pictures do the talking! So enjoy this beautiful backyard wedding.xo- L
